Build your own sections
A Custom section is a section you build yourself from blocks. Use it in a template you are designing (see Design your own template). This page is for website editors.
Add a custom section
Section titled “Add a custom section”- In the template designer, choose a page, then press Add section.
- Choose Custom section (Built from blocks).
- Choose the section on the page to edit it. A Custom mark shows on its row.

| Spacing | Compact, Normal, Airy |
| Width | Page width, Full width |
Add blocks
Section titled “Add blocks”- Press Add block. A sheet opens: Add to and the section’s first heading, or Add a block when it has no heading yet.
- Choose a kind of block. (+ Add a whole section at the bottom of the sheet adds another section to the page instead.)
| Block | What it is |
|---|---|
| Columns | Two to four columns side by side. Each holds other blocks. On a phone they stack. |
| Text | Words. |
| Picture | A picture. |
| Cards | A row of cards. |
| Button | A button with a link. |

- The block appears as a tile. Choose a tile to fill it in, then press Done.
- Use the arrows to move a block up or down, or Delete it (you’re asked to confirm). On a computer you can also drag tiles.
A tile marked Needs fixing has a field that isn’t valid.
The Form block shows the quote form your visitors fill in. Give it a title and a note. A custom section can hold only one form. The questions are set on the Enquiry form tab.
Columns
Section titled “Columns”Choose the Number of columns. In each column, press Add to column 1 (2, 3 and so on) to add blocks. A column holds every block except another Columns. To lower the number of columns, move the blocks out first.
Save to My sections
Section titled “Save to My sections”- In a custom section, press Save to My sections.
- Type a name for it.
- It shows “Saved to My sections as …”.
To reuse it: in Add section, choose From My sections, then Insert. Inserting makes a copy. Delete removes it from My sections only. Pages and templates that already use it keep their copy. My sections show how many you keep (“n of 50 kept”). Platform templates have no My sections.
