Edit the theopsroom website

The theopsroom website is the platform’s own site. It uses the same editor as an operator’s website, with a few differences: it is always started (it comes with theopsroom’s own pages and posts), it has one fixed look, and it has its own address, which you connect below.

In the menu choose Platform, then theopsroom website. You don’t pick an operator first. (Platform → Operators has an Edit the website link on the Platform site row too.) A line under the heading shows where quote requests are emailed, or says “No address is set to get quote requests yet. Add one in Site settings.”

The tabs are Pages, Blog, Pictures, Enquiries, Enquiry form, Site settings and History. They work like the same tabs of an operator’s website. The pages are Home, Features, Pricing, About, Contact, Privacy and Terms.

There are no Theme, colour or template tabs and no Ask AI boxes here. The site has one design, and the theopsroom theme and its extra sections (Feature rows, Customer quotes, Pricing table and Call-to-action band) exist only on this site.

  1. Open Pages and choose a page.
  2. Change the words, pictures, feature rows, logo strip, numbers, buttons and links. The preview beside the form shows your change.
  3. The page saves itself. Changes stay drafts until you Publish.

See Edit your website pages for how saving, sections and the preview work. The starter photos come with the site. To replace one, add yours in Pictures and pick it in the section’s picture field. The main button’s words and colours are in Site settings, on the Buttons card (see Site settings). Blog posts are on the Blog tab.

Text in double square brackets, like [[add]], marks something only you can supply: the pricing limits for Starter, Growth and Scale, a paragraph of your story, the contact phone and office address, the Privacy and Terms text and the draft blog posts. Publish is refused while any of them is visible on a page. The window Fix these first: says which page and “replace the [[…]] placeholders before publishing”. Replace each one (a hidden section is skipped), then publish again.

The counters card on Home (orders packed a month, sellers served) is hidden until you have real numbers. Fill in both and switch the section on. Quotes and customer logos are hidden too.

Press Publish, then watch the progress sheet or the History tab until the version shows as live. See Publish, revert and go back to an earlier version.

The Main address card sits above the tabs. It lists theopsroom.io and www.theopsroom.io, each serving the site or not connected, and has a badge Connected or Not connected. The www address goes to theopsroom.io.

Do the steps in this order. DNS comes first, so the redirect from www never points at an address that has no DNS.

  1. In Cloudflare, open the theopsroom.io zone → DNS → Records → Add record. Add an AAAA record named @ with the IPv6 address 100:: and Proxied (orange cloud) switched on. Optionally add the same for www (the existing wildcard record already answers for it). The bare domain needs its own @ record, because a wildcard never covers it. Don’t use a CNAME and don’t turn the proxy off: that would send visitors to the app instead of the website. Leave the existing app, * and sites-origin records and the email records alone. The exact steps are in docs/theopsroom/website-dns.md.
  2. Publish and wait until the version is live (History).
  3. Press Connect main address. The card shows Connected, and theopsroom.io and www.theopsroom.io serve the website.
  4. Check that https://theopsroom.io opens the website, https://www.theopsroom.io goes to theopsroom.io, and https://app.theopsroom.io still opens the app.
What you see on the card What to do
“Publish the site first, then connect the main address.” Finish step 2, then press the button again.
“Cloudflare isn’t set up yet” Set up hosting in Platform: Settings.
“A Worker route is missing. Press Connect main address again.” Press the button again.
“Cloudflare’s address table is catching up. It retries within a minute.” Wait a minute.

To undo, press Disconnect, then Yes, disconnect. The addresses stop serving the website and the brand address becomes the main address again. DNS is not touched: delete the @ record in Cloudflare yourself.

Open History. Next to the version you want, press Restore to draft, check it, then Publish. Before publishing you can also press Revert to drop your unpublished changes.
