Choose what happens to damaged items
When your warehouse checks a return and finds damaged items, it keeps them apart. They aren’t offered for sale until you decide what happens to them.
The check can also mark items as used, a wrong item or not the order, tick “Seal broken”, and leave good units on a held shelf (“Not put back into stock”). The card is named for what was found:
| Card title | What it means |
|---|---|
| Damaged items | Units counted as damaged. |
| Held items (not put back) | No damage, but the warehouse kept some units on a held shelf instead of putting them back on sale. |
| Damaged and held items | Both. |
The same three choices apply to all of them. The return’s What the warehouse found list shows each condition, the seal and the warehouse’s photos, so you can see why before you decide.
- Open Returns → Waiting for seller and click the return.
- Under “Damaged items: what should happen?” (or “Held items (not put back): what should happen?”), click one:
- Collect: you pick them up from your warehouse. The warehouse marks them handed over when you do.
- Dispose: theopsroom asks “Dispose of the damaged items? This writes them off.” Click OK. (For held items it says “held (not put back)” instead of “damaged”.)
- Resell as is: they go back into sellable stock, and your shops can sell them again.
- The card goes away, and the return’s timeline records your choice.

- 1. The warehouse found damaged items. They’re kept apart and not offered for sale.
- 2. Collect: you pick them up.
- 3. Dispose: the warehouse throws them away.
- 4. Resell as is: they go back on sale.
The card says the items “aren’t offered on” a marketplace. It means they aren’t offered on any of your shops, not only that one.
If the return also needs a refund decision, make that too. See Decide a return.
