Require 2FA for everyone

Only the platform admin sees this. Platform → Settings has a Two-factor sign-in card with one switch: Require 2FA. It’s off until you turn it on.

Set up your own two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app first, and try signing in with it. See Set up two-factor sign-in.

  1. Open Platform → Settings and find Two-factor sign-in.
  2. Under Require 2FA you see how many people haven’t set up two-factor yet, or “Everyone has set it up”.
  3. Turn the switch on. “Require 2FA for everyone?” says how many people will set it up at their next sign-in.
  4. Press Turn on. Press Cancel to leave it off.
  • People who sign in with a password and have no 2FA only reach the setup screen and sign-out. That includes someone who is already signed in with a password. The platform admin uses an authenticator app only; admins, staff and sellers can also use email codes.
  • Continue with Google is not affected and never asks for a code.
  • People can’t turn off their own two-factor sign-in while this is on.

Turn the switch off again the same way (no question is asked). Your change is recorded in your activity.
