Change or confirm your email

Your email is where password reset links go, so it should be real and confirmed.

If your email isn’t confirmed yet, a banner says “Confirm your email so password resets reach you.”

  1. Press Send link on the banner. You see “Link sent to” your email.
  2. Open the email and click the link, then press Confirm. You see Email confirmed.

Accepting an invite from the email link confirms your email too. So does signing in with Google, once your account uses that Google account. Until your email is confirmed, Continue with Google won’t link a new Google account to yours.

  1. Click your name at the top right and choose Change email.
  2. Type the New email. If you have a password, also type your Current password.
  3. Press Send link. You see “We sent a link to” the new address “Your email changes when you click it.”
  4. Open the email at the new address, click the link and press Confirm. You see Email confirmed and “You now sign in with” the new address. Press Sign in.

Until you click the link, your old email keeps working. The link lasts 24 hours and works once; asking again replaces the earlier link. The old address gets a short note that the email was changed. Changing your email doesn’t change Google sign-in.
